About this Resource
The Union Mission has been serving homeless people in the South Hampton Roads community since 1892. We provide safe shelter, food, clothing, whole-health wellness care, job- and life-skills training, and spiritual hope to hundreds of men, women, and children every day. Historically we have not received any state or federal funding, but rely on the generosity of our community, donors, and volunteers.
The Union Mission Thrift Store on our Norfolk campus offers great deals and all sales proceeds go toward helping the homeless.
Hope Haven, our rural Virginia Beach campus, operates a popular Christian summer camp, monthly respite programs for families with special-needs children, a residential children's home, and youth leadership development.
