About this Resource
We provide nutritious, fresh, and "rescued" donated foods (50 lbs average per household) that can be freely selected. At least 16 food stations are supplied each Friday morning through generous contributions of regional anti-hunger organizations, local grocery stores and the working together of up to 40 different volunteers.
Serving the greater community since 1971 without address or ID restrictions, this food bank received the initial support of many churches, then community service organizations and clubs for decades as The Yakima Food Bank. The week of Thanksgiving 2014, after a successful community-wide campaign to invest in the food bank, a brand new building was built and opened as The Yakima Rotary Food Bank.
