The Wheaton Lions Club of the Lions International organization was established October 23, 1923. Lions International was founded in Chicago, Illinois, in 1917 by insurance agent Melvin Jones and others. Lions Clubs International has ever since offered business and professional people a way of sharing their success by helping those less fortunate than themselves.

Lions International is the largest service club organization in the world. Our 1.35 million members, in more than 46,000 clubs are serving communities in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the globe. Since 1917, Lions Clubs have aided the blind and visually impaired, championed youth activities and strengthened local communities through our hands-on services.
