West Side Baptist is a place to Belong, Believe, and Be Involved in hands-on work in the Ward Meade neighborhood (Topeka Blvd to Potwin, First to Sixth Streets). Founded in 1881 as the “Forsta Swenska Baptists Kyrkan” (First Swedish Baptist Church), this friendly group of caring and compassionate Jesus followers has adapted over the years to serve the needs of the changing neighborhood, including changing its name to West Side Baptist Church, as in the "west side of the Capital building." We have inspiring worship services, lively music, great meals, and lots of fun. From our humble beginnings, we have been committed to sharing the faith and love of Jesus Christ with the people of Topeka.
