Veterans Curation Program

San Mateo, California

About this Resource

The Veterans Curation Program (VCP) is a temporary employment and training program, during which veterans receive training in archaeological processing. Using industry-specific technology and software, veterans work to repackage, photograph, and catalog important archaeological collections. These collections can include artifacts and their associated records, as well as historic documents and photographs.

The Veterans Curation Program (VCP) flagship laboratory in San Mateo, California is the newest addition to the program, opening in November 2018. Many veterans have been employed in the San Mateo VCP. Currently, New South employs archaeological laboratory technicians in the San Mateo VCP.
