The Open Door is a hunger relief organization dedicated to ending local hunger through access to healthy food. As the largest food shelf in Dakota County, The Open Door serves roughly 17,000 Dakota County residents each month through a combination of innovative programs.
In step with our mission, 70% of the food we distribute is fresh and/or perishable. Clients are able to access these healthy food choices at over 70 different sites - including a fixed-site food pantry in Eagan, multiple Pop-Up Pantry sites across Dakota County, our Mobile Lunchbox program for students in the summer, and our Garden to Table program sites.
