The VFW is a fraternal, patriotic, historical, chartable and educational organization that preserves and strengthens comradeship among its members, assist worthy comrades, perpetuates the memory and history of our dead, and to assist their surviving spouses and orphans, fosters true patriotism, maintains true allegiance to the Government of the United States, and fidelity to the its Constitution and laws, maintains and extends the institutions of American freedom; and to preserve and defend the United States from all enemies.
