The Providence VA Medical Center (PVAMC) is dedicated to providing Veterans residing in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts with high-quality health care, across the full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology. The PVAMC system consists of the medical center, located at 830 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence, R.I., and community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) in Middletown, R.I., New Bedford, Mass., and Hyannis, Mass. Together, the facilities comprise more than 1,600 full-time equivalent employees, and serve more than 36,000 Veterans. A primary care provider coordinates each patient's medical care, patient education needs and referrals to any of the medical center’s 32 subspecialty clinics.
