Mansoor Shariff, MD, is a gastroenterologist at UW Health. Dr. Shariff treats patients who have diseases of the digestive tract (involving the mouth, throat, esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, rectum and anus). These include peptic ulcer disease, esophageal reflux, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and other stomach disorders. He specializes in patients with chronic abdominal pain and visceral hypersensitivity (a neurological disorder causing pain in the internal organs of the chest, abdomen and pelvis). When evaluating symptoms, he considers the gut-brain connection as it relates to stress-induced symptoms.
