About this Resource
Located near Altoona in Duncansville, Blair County, the Hollidaysburg Veterans’ Home (HVH) is the largest of six veterans homes in the commonwealth. The home rests on 326 acres located along the main Allegheny Mountain ridge, providing a domain that is easily accessible by family and friends, yet offers enough isolation that our residents can enjoy tranquil, scenic living.
Fifty-eight American flags line both sides of the avenue leading to the home, right up to Eisenhower Hall, the main building named in honor of the former five-star general and President of the United States. Before entering the home, visitors are welcomed by a huge Eagle statue, a patriotic symbol of America’s freedom and all worth fighting for.
