About this Resource
Founded in 2016 by Janis Smith and Brenda Grier, Emma's Place Inc. is a heartfelt tribute to their mother, Miss Emma, who was a beacon of generosity in their childhood, always sharing meals with neighborhood kids. This 501(c)(3) non-profit embodies Miss Emma's spirit by providing essential support to the community. Initially assisting 50-60 people daily, it has remarkably expanded its reach, now serving over 150 individuals each day. Through distributing more than 50,000 pounds of food monthly, Emma's Place ensures Miss Emma's legacy of love, care, and communal support lives on, touching the hearts of many and fostering a sense of unity and warmth within the community, embodying the essence of Miss Emma's kindness for generations to come.
