About this Resource
Since 1926, Post 170 has been Alexander County’s local American Legion post. Formed in 1919, the American Legion is America’s largest wartime veterans service organization aimed at promoting Veteran Affairs, Patriotism, National Security and Youth programs.
In Taylorsville, Post 170 is engaged with Alexander’s veterans as well as hosting American Legion girls Softball and boys Baseball. We promote patriotism by providing U.S. flags to schools, churches and civic organizations.
We meet monthly at the Benjamin W. Hines Veterans Committee (VETCOM) campus on Carrigan Road south of Taylorsville every third Thursday of the month at 6 PM.
Building a stronger America one Post at a time.
