The prime mission of the Bellingham Sailing Foundation (BSF) is to promote sailing as a recreation and sport for young people in Whatcom County. 1. To educate, promote, and encourage public knowledge, appreciation of, and involvement in, the sport of sailing; 2. To conduct local, regional, national, and international sailing competitions; 3. To promote, conduct, and direct training programs for recreational sailing; 4. To provide training and instruction in seamanship, safety, and maintenance of sail, power, and self-propelled boats; 5. To conduct activities related to recreational and competitive sailing for everyone, including individuals with disabilities, who are disadvantaged, and who are under age 18; 6.
