Description
The Sickle Cell/Thalassemia Patients Network (SCTPN) is a charitable organization established in 1985 as an adult support group for individuals living with inherited blood disorders. SCTPN incorporated in the State of New York April 1992, and received its tax-exemption thereafter. The mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals living with sickle cell disease (SCD) and thalassemia, and their families. Through education, advocacy, care coordination, and referral to needed services, SCTPN has been successful in diminishing the negative social, academic, economic, political impact these inherited disorders have on entire communities.
