Darryl started his career in the field of taxation in 1989 working part-time for H & R Block. In 1993, he made opened his own practice in San Diego, CA and established “Top Hat Tax”.

In 1993, Darryl graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and in 1996 graduated from National University with a Masters’ of Science in Taxation (MST).
Darryl earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service becoming an Enrolled Agent (EA)
