The VFW is a nonprofit Veterans service organization comprised of eligible Veterans and military Servicemembers. POST MISSION BG WILLIAM O. DARBY - Fort Smith - Arkansas It shall be the mission of this Post, BG William O. Darby Post 8845, Veterans of Foreign Wars, to strengthen the Veteran and the bonds within their families and comradeship by: ensuring that no Comrade is ever left behind and to render aide to our fellow Veterans and Service Members that are in crisis; to educate and assist the families and friends of Veterans in crisis; to substantially decrease the Veteran Suicide Rate throughout the region; to remind our community that we are valued assets and to instill in the minds of all Veterans and Service Members that YOU MATTER.
