Volunteers for Literacy (VFL) is a non-profit 501c3 with a mission to establish and foster literacy in Habersham County. We work to empower people through literacy so they can lead more productive and fulfilling lives.

Each May, VFL holds the VFL Rubber Duck Race to raise money to fund essential literacy programs. Tickets for the duck race are $5 or 5 for $20 and can be purchased at the VLF website or on the VFL Facebook page. Ticket numbers match those of the ducks dropped into the Soque on race day. Prizes are $1,000 for the first duck that crosses the finish line; $500 for the second duck that crosses and $250 for the third.
